Biography
MIRAGE was formed on Halloween of 2000 by front man Jamie Lewis. My brother and band mate of 10 years strong. It began as a 3 piece project with Lewis on Guitars and Vocals. We began to write, write, write, as well as bring some of our past years work and ideas to life. Shortly after forming and starting to do shows. Lewis felt he could better front the band if he could concentrate 110% on vocals, and the fans. This decision lead to the addition of Guitarist Brian Duncan who played 2nd guitarist to Jamie in a band we lived in from 1994-1997. Brian was also in another band during this time and frankly did not have the time to be fully dedicated to both bands. He left on good terms to focus on his primary project at the time.
Brian's stepping down lead to the addition of guitarist Jimmy Haynez and then eventually Brians come back lead to the 5 piece that is now Mirage. An up coming debut Full Length CD is now available to pre order & scheduled for release Jan 1st, 2004. Music & Lyrics for Debut Album titled "Eyes of the Mourning" was written in collaboration by MirageThrashing.com L.L.C... 4 songs from the album are currently available for download as low quality mp3's in the un mastered version. A Limited amount of 6 track samplers are also available for free at live shows. More new stuff is in the works for a 2nd album.
Mirage has appeared with many of the worlds best acts such as Anthrax, Soil, Superjoint Ritual, and others. Such great shows, and a big part our local success, comes thanks to hard work, perseverance, the Carolina Empire, & most importantly my brothers The Minchows. Members of Mirage are from Oconee County, of upstate South Carolina. Home base venue is Ground Zero in Spartanburg. Rumors of interest with a few labels are partially true. Hopefully something gives and we have good news for everyone soon. There is a vibe that is a new level of focus, dedication, & influence that is inspiring to the band & its future.
