Biography

BISHOP is a hard rock quartet with a conviction and passion for creating heart pounding, soul searching, head spinning music. With a lust for life and dedication to their craft, BISHOP attacks every new challenge with vigilant persistence, never settling for anything less than success. They believe in giving their fans and supporters more than expected, and those who may doubt what BISHOP can do, get a double shot!

BISHOP history begins in the winter of 1999 with Tommy, The Root, and Buca. Immediately after forming, BISHOP began gigging around the Albany / Upstate NY scene. They produced their first 4-song demo in the spring of 1999. By July 1999, BISHOP landed its first big gig at The Woodstock festival held in Rome, NY. Capitalizing from the exposure given by such a venue, Bishop turned up the heat for the remainder of the summer performing throughout New York State venues.

Realizing that they needed a complete body of work on wax, BISHOP began laying tracks in the fall of 1999. It was at this time that DC was added to the line up. Over the course of 2000 and 2001, BISHOP has proved they are the real deal through intense live performances along side the nationals. Following the completion of their full length release "Centipede" in the fall of 2001, BISHOP is enjoying glowing reviews from radio, publications and fans alike.

With a solid work ethic, a focused game plan, and an excellent album in their pockets, BISHOP will find themselves extremely busy over the course of 2002. They plan on touring extensively in support of "Centipede", and working closely with radio, and their ever growing fan base in the hopes of bringing the BISHOP sound to everyone around.

A fan at a BISHOP show once said out loud, "How can four normal looking guys rock so hard?". Tommy replied to her, "we just do". These four "normal" guys share one thing in common, the music. "The proof is in the pudding", says Root," and after people hear the album, they'll see that we rock….hard!
