pneuma is a promising young modern rock band that blends the explosive dynamics of nine inch nails, the melodic gift of radiohead, and the dual vocal presence of alice in chains into a guitar riff-heavy and darkly-atmospheric brand of rock and roll. their music can only be categorized as the next generation of modern rock.



formed in 1999, the band which is comprised of justin mann, 21 (vocals, guitar), brent young, 20 (keyboards, vocals), gabe lambert, 21 (guitar), gil covarrubias, 20 (bass), and thy riedel, 22 (drums), has been playing the seattle club circuit while steadily building a growing following.



pneuma recently wrote, recorded, and produced their self-titled debut e.p. each of the four songs on the e.p. represent a different side of their musical personality, ranging from the driving guitar attack of "eden", to the painful balladry of "i should have known".



pneuma's powerful live show is a balanced attack between aggressive fury and beautiful soundscapes that has earned them the reputation as one of the best up-and-coming bands in seattle and a must-see attraction.



pneuma, who adopted their name from a greek word that translates to "the vital spirit," creates dramatic and emotionally-inspired rock music. while exploring lyrical themes ranging from personal introspection to political irony, pneuma is able to lock in the listener while providing enough musical hooks to keep their songs stuck in a person's head for days.
