'I Live My Own Life' kicks this album off with a blast of electronically enhanced female fronted power metal that is emphasized by a particularly heavy guitar tone and a thrusting rhythm that propels the track with an engine of sonic electricity. Dreamaker have a commercial appeal that is unusual for this type of music and the enhancements provided by the keyboards make their music sound totally fresh. On 'Reverse Universe' the group nestles into a chunky groove as Elisa Martin absolutely kills it on vocals. She has a fantastic, varied range that is upfront and aggressive and complements the band's brand of cyber power metal very well. Finally, a band which utilizes female vocals and keyboards simultaneously with a more than excellent result! The guitar tones on this record are massive! It sounds like the guitarists either used several different amplifiers in the studio or more likely, an amp modeler to generate these awe inspiring tones. Dreamaker inject a thrashy element into 'Over The Edge', while 'The End Of Your Suicide' is a futuristic sounding track that is wide open with an enormous hook that pulls the listener in and never lets go. The fascinating thing about this band is that they come at you from all directions, but maintain a fundamental focus on strong, powerful rhythms and an emphasis on melody that sets them apart from the pack. 'W.W. 666' kicks off with air raid sirens, and then launches a metal fury that will plaster you to the wall. When Martin starts in with her stunning vocal performance, it cannot be denied that Dreamaker are a force to be reckoned with in the metal realm. 'Enclosed' is a flurry of notes that forms a wall of sound whereas perfect soul is a blasting affair that speeds like a bullet toward a body.
'Promised Heaven' is a bit more subdued, with attention paid to strong power metal scales and thumping bass lines. If given the chance, this music would become very popular. There's so much to like here. It's upbeat and the band maintains a large amount of energy through the course of the record that is infectious. Make way for the next big thing in European metal…Dreamaker!
