Fightstar is a London-based quartet who has suffered its share of obstacles, stemming mainly from lead singer Charlie Simpson’s boy band past. Yet this unit remains unfazed, and puts out a 14-track album laden with the kind of musical wares you’d expect from acts like 30 Seconds to Mars, Chevelle, and Funeral for A Friend. Emotionally charged, slightly screamo, and completely digestible for mass consumption, Fightstar’s overall presentation is bound to rack up airplay, piss off ardent rock fans, and enchant teenage girls across the globe. Not much different for Mr. Simpson, eh? If you dig the big rock sound with not much to say behind it, this disc is for you and your little sister to rock out to.
